John recently participated in a recording session with the band Swing City, whose members are made up from the music faculty of Cuyahoga Community College.
Members include Lee Bush - guitar, Marion Hayden - bass, John Bacon - drums, Ernie Krivda - tenor sax, Joe Hunter - piano, Steve Enos - trumpet and Chris Anderson - trombone.
The session was recorded "live" on stage at the college, direct-to-Pro Tools by engineer Tom Wiggin, using an array of vintage mics, including RCA ribbon mics and Neuman condensors.
The music is an updated version of Swing Era small group jazz with arrangements by Bacon and Ernie Krivda. The CD is planned for a Spring 2001 release.
